Comparison Project
The topic my group and myself picked was to compare students, family members, and staff to a famous person or character. We wanted to make this like a comedy blog, but once people heard we were comparing them they denied our proposal. All we wanted to do was for them to enjoy our blog to laugh a little and not take it to heart. Through the process I wish to find out why most people don't like the idea of being compared to others or to why others were willing to let us use their face for our project.
The research process isn't so difficult, all we needed was a picture of the person and the internet to find their "twin" or for the person they'd wish to be compared to. Our background information is just simply asking them questions like, "Do people ever say you look like someone?" or "Do people ever say to you that you remind them of someone?" I think seeing peoples reaction after explaining what our subject is on is one of the best things because then you get to see how they feel about it, but not fully sure so its a mystery.
The information we will collect from is from the internet or some research articles magazines. the one we used the most was the internet, we used it to find the pictures we needed and the info on the person/thing.

The person we had picked to interview was Ms. Beam, but some problems came up so we ended up interviewing Ms. Conway, the schools councilor. She also has a degree in psychology I believe, so it was just a perfect outcome! We got to know a couple of things we didn't know before, it helped us understand things a little more.
The outcome we hope to get is for people to laugh and to understand the view that we have on this. Its not to make fun of people or to make people feel crappie about themselves, we know every person is unique in their own way. The end product will be a blog of comedy, a blog filled with pictures!
This topic is viable because we are using an analogy ( it shows how two things are similar ). We are pointing out features and characteristics with the intention of making people laugh. Its also a way for the person we are comparing use their imagination in helping us differentiate them. They can portray themselves into anyone the wish to be.
